Grand Designs - Castles, Fortified Houses and Stately Homes

Centuries of conflict and unruly locals have left the North East with a unique legacy of castles, fortified houses, and glorious stately homes. Many are dramatically situated on cliff-tops, islands, above beaches and in ancient towns, some may be familiar from movies (Harry Potter fans will not be disappointed...) while others are renowned for their fabulous works of art but they all make for a fantastic day out.
