Day 2 - Orkney
Our base will be the luxury five-star Balfour Castle Hotel, the most northerly castle hotel in the world! From here we will explore Orkney with trips to the island’s incredible ancient attractions: Skara Brae is a spectacular stone-built Neolithic village and UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Ring of Brodgar is one of the finest stone circles in the British Isles dating from around 2500-2000 BC.

Day 3 - Smoo Cave
Today we will return to the mainland and travel from the most Northerly point on the island of Britain right along Scotland’s spectacular Northern coastline. Our destination is Smoo Cave, a stunning natural formation which contains both a sea cave (with the largest cave opening in Britain) and an inner freshwater cave. This magical site is wonderful to explore and has a fascinating history: archaeological investigations have uncovered Neolithic, Norse and Iron Age artefacts and it is believed that use of the cave could date back to the Mesolithic period. After a long day you can rest in comfort in a nearby boutique hotel.

Day 4 - Achmelvich Beach
Today we leave the beaten path to find one of Scotland’s last undiscovered treasures. Achmelvich beach is a sparkling gem on the North-Western coast of Scotland, with crystal clear azure waters and white sand beaches this really is a little piece of paradise. After exploring the bay enjoy a dinner of fresh seafood, the true taste of Scotland’s coast.

Day 5 - Strome Castle
Strome Castle, standing on a rocky outcrop on the north shore of Loch Carron, is an atmospheric ruin with a dramatic history of clan battles. Besides the story of Strome Castle’s past, its location is enough to draw visitors here, offering incredible views of this wonderfully wild and remote location. Tonight we will be staying at The Torridon: set in 58 acres of parkland at the end of a magnificent sea loch, The Torridon has one of the most spectacular and idyllic locations in the country. Their restaurant provides fine dining with the best of Scottish food and with over 350 malt whiskies to offer their whisky bar is second to none.

The largest of the islands of the Inner Hebrides, the Isle of Skye is famous for its breath-taking scenery and landscapes. This island has a mythical feel and is a perfect place to immerse yourself in legend as we take a trip to Dunvegan Castle and explore the mystical Fairy Glen. The magnificent 20,000-acre Clan Donald estate in south Skye offers an outstanding experience: we can explore the historic gardens and woodland trails around Armadale Castle and learn about Highland history in the fascinating Museum of the Isles.

One such walk takes us to the wishing stone which has many legends associated with it and may even have the power to grant your heart’s desire! From here we travel to our next fantastic hotel, the five-star Victorian mansion Glencoe House. Feel free to explore the surrounding Glen (which provided scenery for several locations in the Harry Potter films) or relax in the comfort of your private suite.
